Our current project Get Ahead is a continuation of our previous projects Theatre as a Communication bridge and Communiction Bridges.

 

The project Get Ahead is carried on in the framework of the Youth in Action Program. Its purpose is to improve young deaf people's opportunities for social activity in the hearing community and promote dialogue, exchange and cooperation between the youth of EU and China, while developing the competence of entrepreneurship.

 

During the project various activities will be provided through partnerships with The Basic School of Arts Na Popelce (Czech Republic), Chengdu School SE (China), The Artistic Pedagogic Youth Organization “Sxedia stin poli” (Greece), Društvo ustvarjalcev Taka Tuka (Slovenia) and Estudio Busqueda de Pantomima Teatro (México).

 

By no coincidence, theatre and drama are the underlying connection between the hearing and non-hearing world, as well as the intercultural dialogue. Through their vivid palette of expressions, they both encourage the young towards active thinking in regard to certain topics, while enabling them to share their knowledge, thoughts and ideas, and spread their experiences and skills.

 

The 4th International Conference of Drama and Theatre in Education is one of the many activities that we plan to organise throughout this project.
