Timeline of Recent Activities

  1. We set up a new website www.rojstnidnevitakatuka.net.
  2. Show Asterix and Obelix - communication with deaf was performed at the 7th Festival of Slovenian deaf theater groups.
  3. With the performance ASTERIX AND OBELIX - COMMUNICATION WITH THE DEAF, sign language workshops and demonstration booth, we attended the LUPA festival 
  4. We participated at the children's fair OTROŠKI BAZAR. 
  5. In August 2013, a group of six members of the Taka Tuka Society participated in the study visit in Estudio Busqueda de Pantomima Theatre in Mexico. There we attended a training course in the methods of Drama in Education, chaired by Chris Cooper, and workshops of physical theater, led by Sigfrido Aguilar.
  6. We took part in the Youth Exchange in Birmingham - working with the school for deaf and Big Brum Theatre in Education Company - May 2013.
  7. We led a project COMMUNICATION BRIDGES, which was financially supported by the program Youth in Action - Action 3.2. The project involved organizations from China, Mexico, Great Britain and Slovenia.
  8. We hosted another EVS volunteer from Spain - Juan.
  9. Implementation of the project Aliens in the classroom at elementary school Miran Jarc and the Institute for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Ljubljana.
  10. The show ASTERIX AND OBELIX - communication with the deaf was performed at the festival Visions, organized by Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia.
  11. We attended the festival INKAZ in Zagreb.
  12. We attended the festival PLAY WITH ME (Igraj se z mano) in Ljubljana. 
  13. Members of Taka Tuka Society took a training course of the Drama in Education method  in Birminghan (Chris Cooper and Big Brum).
  14. Our puppet group's performance got selected and attended the national meeting of puppet groups of Slovenia.
  15. In May we hosted a group of young people from China.
  16. We attended a cultural camp at CIRIUS in Kamnik.
  17. We organized 13th Theater Festival of Deaf Children and Adolescents (GLEDALIŠČE GLEDALCE IŠČE) in cultural house Španski Borci.

2013

2012

  1. In December we organized the 3rd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE of Educational Drama and Theatre, entitled Communcation bridge (Most sporazumevanja) in Grand Hotel Union Ljubljana. 
  2. We set up a website dedicated to EDUCATIONAL DRAMA AND TEHATRE www.gledaliskapedagogika.net.
  3. We participated at the children's fair OTROŠKI BAZAR. 
  4. Within the project Theatre as a Communication Bridge we visited China.
  5. We led a project THEATRE AS A COMMUNICATION BRIDGE (Gledališče, most sporazumevanja), which connected organizations from China and Slovenia - University of Chengdu, Chengdu School for Special Education and the Association of Teachers of the Deaf Slovenia.
  6. We hosted EVS volunteers for the firs time, within the EVS project The Power of Theatre / Moč gledališča. For one year Segundo Valmorisoa Lopez from Spain and Buram Can Kaya from Turkey assisted us in all activities.
  7. The show ASTERIX AND OBELIX at the Olympics was performed at the festival Visions, organized by Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia.
  8. The puppet show THE VANITY TREE was performed at the festival Puppets of Dragon France, organized by Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia.

2011

  1. We attended the 18th World Congress of DRAMA IN EDUCATION; Österreichischer Bundesverband für außberufliches Theater.
  2. We attended the festival PLAY WITH ME with theater performance At the museum and a puppet show The Vanity Tree .
  3. We participated at the children's fair OTROŠKI BAZAR. 
  4. We attended the festival F = M in Zagreb with the show AT THE MUSEUM.
  5. We organized the 12th Theater Festival for Deaf Children and Adolescents THEATRE LOOKING FOR AUDIENCE (Gledališče gledalce išče). The Taka Tuka Society performed with shows: ASTERIX AND OBELIX AT THE OLYMIPCS, YOU CAN NOT EAT A PRINCESS and THE VANITY TREE.

2010

  1. We rented a studio on Osojna pot 3a in Ljubljana and named it the Taka Tuka Studio.
  2. We have acquired the status of an association of public interest in the social and cultural field.
  3. Three mentors attended the training course of the Forum Theatre method, entitled Step into the stage. Take Action!, organized by the Confederation de la Communauté Portugaise au Luxembourg.
  4. We attended the festival F = M in Zagreb and at the festival PLAY WITH ME in Ljubljana with the performance CLOWNS IN THE EXAM.
  5. We organized the 2nd CONFERENCE OF EDUCATIONAL DRAMA AND THEATRE, entitled Educational Theatre in the Education System: Theory, Experience, Opportunities and Proposals.
  6. Social pedagogy students organised a youth initiative THEATRE LOOKING FOR AUDIENCE 10 +1 through Taka Tuka Society.

2009

  1. We attended the 17th World Congress of DRAMA IN EDUCATION; Österreichischer Bundesverband für außberufliches Theater.
  2. We organized the 11th Theater Festival of Deaf Children and Adolescents (GLEDALIŠČE GLEDALCE IŠČE).
  3. We attended the first International Theatre Festival in Thailand Patumthami to show PANDORA BOX (Pandorina skrinjica) 
  4. We were a part of a two-year Comenius multilateral project: DICE - Drama Improves Lisbon Key Competences.
  5. We organised an international project THEATRUM PRO OMNIBUS (Mexico, Slovenia, Zambia, Thailand, Hungary, Greece).
  6. We organized the first INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF EDUCATIONAL DRAMA AND THATRE in Slovenia, entitled THEATRE FOR ALL.
